complainの名詞形はcomplaintですね。
I have a complaint about it.
→それについて文句があるんだけど。
I'm in no mood for complaints.
→文句を聞く気分じゃない。
We're being inundated by complaints.
→文句が殺到している。
「クレーム」は*claimではなくcomplaintと言います。「クレーマー」の英語版はcomplainerです。念のため。
Did you settle the complaint amicably?
→そのクレームはうまく解決できたのかい？
This complaint is too good to be true.
→このクレームは話がうますぎて本当とは思えない。
Handling customer complaints is a very demanding job.
→お客様のクレームを処理するのはとてもきつい仕事だ。
「文句」に関連した次の言い回しも覚えておきましょう。
Stop grumbling and get to work.
→ぶつぶつ文句を言わずに仕事をしろ。
If you have something to say, then say it.
→文句があるなら言ってみろよ。
She's quick to criticize.
→彼女はすぐにけちをつけてくる。
He wants to find fault with everything I do.
→彼は僕のすることに何でもけちをつけたがる。
Are there any objections?
→異議はありますか？
He didn't anticipate any objections to his proposal.
→彼は自分の提案に反対があると予想していなかった。
最後に英文をもう一つ。中間管理職は・・・。
