Part 3:言い換え実例チェック3
前回に引き続き品詞別言い換えの実例を挙げてみます。
1. 動詞 ⇨ 名詞
This knife cuts well.
この包丁、切れ味がいいね。
⇨ This knife has a good bite.
2. 動詞 ⇨ 形容詞
I can't wait to see the results of the exam.
試験結果を知りたくて待ちきれない。
⇨ I'm anxious to see the results of the exam.
3. 動詞 ⇨ 動詞
I couldn't get on my train.
いつもの電車に乗れなかった。
⇨ I missed my train.
《解説》
1. cut well / have a good bite「よく切れる」、bite「切る力 (名詞)」。
2. can’t wait to ~「~するのが待ち切れない」、be anxious to ~「~したくて仕方がない」。
3. get on ~「~に乗る」、miss「見逃す」。
