《今日のFUP：1169》 牛飲馬食 ─ ぎゅういんばしょく
「そんな牛飲馬食の毎日を送っていたら、体を壊すよ」 ─ If you gorge yourself and swill so much every day, you’re going to mess up your health.
gorge oneself「お腹一杯食べる」とswill「がぶがぶ飲む」を組み合わせ、so muchで強調して「牛飲馬食」を表現。If you eat like a horse and drink like a fish every day, ～「毎日のように大食いして、大酒を飲んでいたら」と言い換えてもいいでしょう。mess up one’s health「体を壊す」。
（例）「１日３食しっかり食べないと体調を崩すよ」─ You’ll upset your health if you don’t have three square meals a day.
・upset「具合を悪くさせる」、square「きちんとした」。

「海外視察を大義名分にして、彼らは名所見物と買い物を大いに楽しんだ」─ They got a lot of pleasure out of seeing the sights and shopping on the pretext that they were on a tour of inspection abroad.
「～をして大いに楽しむ」─ get a lot of pleasure of ～ing
「～を満喫する」─ fully enjoy ～ing
「名所見物をする」─ see the sights
「～を口実にして (～を大義名分にして)」─ on the pretext that ～
「海外視察中である」─ be on a tour of inspection abroad
「彼は風邪を口実にして仕事を休み、ワールドカップ・サッカーの試合を見ていた」─ He used his cold as a pretext to stay home from work and watched the World Cup soccer game.
Extra Bit：「息子は英語を勉強しているという口実で、一日中アメリカ映画を見ている」My son watches American movies all day, on the pretext that he’s studying English.
