《今日のFUP：1168》 大義名分 ─ たいぎめいぶん
「海外視察を大義名分にして、彼らは名所見物と買い物を大いに楽しんだ」 ─ They got a lot of pleasure out of seeing the sights and shopping on the pretext that they were on a tour of inspection abroad.
get a lot of pleasure of ～ing「～をして大いに楽しむ」の代わりにfully enjoy ～ing「～を満喫する」も使えます。see the sights「名所見物をする」。「～を大義名分にして」をon the pretext that ～「～を口実にして」で表現。be on a tour of inspection abroad「海外視察中である」。
（例）「彼は風邪を口実にして仕事を休み、ワールドカップ・サッカーの試合を見ていた」─ He used his cold as a pretext to stay home from work and watched the World Cup soccer game.
・use ～ as a pretext to ...「～を…するための言い訳に使う」。

「彼の慇懃無礼な態度を思い出すたびに、嫌悪感を覚える」─ I feel disgusted every time I remember his overly polite, condescending manner.
「むかつく (嫌悪感を覚える)」─ feel disgusted
「～するたびに」─ every time ～
「あまりに丁寧すぎる＋人を見下したような (慇懃無礼な)」─ overly polite＋condescending
「押しつけがましい」─ patronizing
「彼の偉そうな物言いが、なんか嫌なんだよね」─ Something about his insolent way of speaking gives me a bad feeling.
Extra Bit：「最近の銀行員の態度はなんと慇懃無礼なことか。何様だと思ってるんだ」─ These bank employees seem so politely insolent lately. I wonder what's behind it.
