「スクイズ」」と言えば・・・baseball!

彼はスクイズに失敗した。
最近よく耳にするのが「スクイズボトル」。この「スクイズ」は英語squeezeのカタカナ表記。意味は・・・「絞る、搾る、押し込む」など。
動詞squeezeを使った次の英文の和訳に注目。
Make sure you squeeze all the liquid out of
the garbage before you throw it away.
生ゴミはしっかり水切りしてから捨ててね。
Squeeze in closer ... closer ... a little more.
Get ready ... on three ... one, two, three, cheese!
