次の文を英訳すると？
1. ホームページを立ち上げたんだけど。
2. こまめに更新しなくちゃならないし。

【Step 1】
日本語の意味に合わせて英訳してみましょう。

1.「ホームページを立ち上げる」はbe up on the Internet 「インターネットに乗っている」でも表現できます。I recently opened a website of my own.とも言えます。
2. updateを動名詞として使っているところがポイント。a lot of updating to doで「しょっちゅう更新しな くてはいけない（たくさんやることがある）」の意味になります。updateを受け身にして次のようにも言えます。It has to be updated constantly.
3.「管理する」はmaintain「維持する」で表現できますが、ここではその名詞形maintenanceにhigh-をつけて形容詞として使っています。high-maintenanceとは「手間がかかる (require a lot of attention and constant work)」の意味。
4.「古くなる」をageで表現している点に注目。the hits drop off「ヒット数が落ちる」で「誰も見に来てくれない」を表現しています。また、語順を入れ換えて、The hit rate drops off the minute the contents get a little old.と言ってもいいでしょう。
