「最近は暗いニュースばかりだね」─ All the news has been depressing lately.
depressingは「気が滅入るような」という意味の形容詞。There hasn't been anything but bad news lately.でも同じような意味になります。You see a lot of news about bloody accidents and crimes lately.「最近は血生臭いニュースが多い」。この英文も一緒に覚えておきましょう。
