【解説】
1.「腐れ縁」をbe stuck with him「彼とくっついている」で表現しています。We met in college and I haven't been able to shake him since.とも言えます。この場合のnot shake himは「彼との縁を切れない」の意味。
2.「転職する」はchange jobsと言います。jobsと複数形になっている点に注目。
3. pantsは「ズボン、スラックス」の意味を表す場合が多いので、underwearを使いましょう。
4. The years aren't treating me well.の文字通りの意味は「年齢の私に対する扱いがよくない」です。
5. gallstone「胆石」。writhe in agonyで「苦痛でのたうち回る」の意味。I spent the weekend writhing in agony when my gallstone started to move.とも言えます。
