次の文を英訳すると？

1. インフルエンザが流行ってるよね。
2. みんなあっという間に高熱を出してダウンしてる。
3. 下手すると1週間も休まなくちゃいけくなるから。
4. 外から帰ったら必ず手を洗ってうがいしなくちゃ。
5. 予防するにこしたことないよ。

【Step 1】
日本語の意味に合わせて英訳してみましょう。

1. Many people are getting the flu.
2. Everyone gets a high temperature and must stay in bed.

【解説】
1.「インフルエンザ」はflu（口語）と言います。これとgo around「広まる」を組み合わせれば「流行る」が表現できます。wildfire「野火」を使って、The flu is spreading like wildfire.「インフルエンザが一気に広まっている」のようにも言えます。
2. get it「インフルエンザにかかる」、be down with a fever「高熱を出して倒れる（寝込む）」の使い方がポイント。(the) next thing you knowで「気が付いたら、いつのまにか」の意味を表しています。theは省略で きます。
3.「下手すると」をIf it's a bad case「ひどい場合には」で言い換えています。missの使い方にも注意。miss a week of workで「1週間分の仕事をやり損なう」と言っています。outを使って、You could be out for a week.と言ってもいいでしょう。
4.「必ず～する」をDon't forget to ～「忘れずに～する」で表現しています。wash upは「（顔や手を）洗う」の意味。your handsを付け足す必要はありません。「うがいする」はgargleですね。また、every time ～は「～の時はいつでも」の意味になります。
5.「～するにこしたことはない」は can never be too careful「注意してもしすぎるということはない」で表現できます。when it comes to ～で「～に関して言えば」と言葉を付け足しています。
