◇たらればを言っても始まらないか◇
次の文を英訳すると？
1. 週休三日だったらいいのに。
2. 一日は家の用事でつぶれたとしても大丈夫。
3. まだ二日も自分の時間が残ってるんだから。
4. でもそんな楽な仕事そうそうないよな。
5. たらればを言っても始まらないか。
【Step 1】
日本語の意味に合わせて英訳してみましょう。
1. I wish I had three days off each weekend.
2. Even if I did housework one day, it would be OK.
3. Two days remain to do what I want.
4. But there is no easy job like that.
5. I should not keep saying "if."

より英語らしく表現する（英語に磨きをかける）とどうなるか。カッコに入る語を考えてみてください。

2. I could spend a day on ～で「～に一日を費やせる」という意味になります。また、「大丈夫」をwith no problemを用いて表しています。「一日は家の用事～」は、spend a full day working around the houseのようにも言い換えられます。
3.「残っている」はremainよりも、have ～ left overを使ったほうが自然でしょう。fullは「まるまる」の意味。Thereで始めて、There'd still be two days left to do whatever I want.と言ってもいいでしょう。
