《今日のFUP：1223》 朝令暮改 ─ ちょうれいぼかい
「この会社のお偉方は朝令暮改が多すぎる。だから物事がスムーズに進まないんだ」─ The higher-ups in this office frequently change the rules and policies. That’s why things aren’t going smoothly.
higher-ups「お偉方、上役」。「朝令暮改」とはfrequently change the rules and policies「頻繁に規則や方針を変える」ことですね。fickle「移り気な」を使って、The higher-ups in this office are very fickle. That’s why ～と言い換えてもいいでしょう。go smoothly「順調に進む」。
（例）「彼はとんでもなく気まぐれだから。当てにしちゃだめだよ」─ He’s awfully inconsistent. Don’t count on him.
・inconsistent「むらのある」、count on ～「～を頼りにする」。
前回の復習
「会議の場で社長の提案にけちをつけるとは、なんと大胆不敵な奴だ」─ He’s got to be pretty fearless to throw cold water on the president’s proposal.
「～をするとはまるで恐れを知らない (大胆不敵)」─ pretty fearless to ～
「向こう見ずな、ふてぶてしい」─ audacious
「けちをつける」─ throw cold water on ～「～に水を差す」/ find fault with ～「～のあら探しをする」
「彼の大胆な要求にみんながあっけにとられた」─ All of us were taken aback by his bold request.
Extra Bit：「あいつ新人のくせに、ずいぶんふてぶてしいね」─ He's pretty brash for somebody who's still new around here.
