《今日のFUP：1190》 罵詈雑言 ─ ばりぞうごん
「あの２人の喧嘩はものすごかったよ。お互いに罵詈雑言を浴びせ合っちゃって」─ The fight those two had was intense. They heaped abuse on each other.
intense「激しい、強烈な」。abuse「虐待 (child abuse→幼児虐待)、乱用 (drug abuse→薬物乱用)」には「罵り、悪口」という意味もあります。ここではheap「山ほど与える」を使って、heap abuse on ～で「罵詈雑言を浴びせる」を表現しています。heapはshower「浴びせる」に置き換え可能。
（例）「彼女は自分の欠点を棚に上げ、人の悪口ばかり言う」─ She shelves her own failings and talks down about other people.
・failing「欠点」、shelve「棚上げにする」、talk down「けなす」。

「気宇壮大な計画を立てるのはいいが、今抱えている懸案事項を先送りにするのはどうかと思う」─ It’s OK to make grand, spectacular plans, but it’s no good to put off the pending issues we have right now.

「彼はどんなことでも取り上げて、それを壮大な話にしてしまう」─ He’ll take anything and make an epic tale out of it.
