《今日のFUP：1183》 支離滅裂 ─ しりめつれつ
「準備不足のために、新商品のプレゼンが支離滅裂になってしまった」─ Our presentation of the new product was incoherent for lack of preparation.
incoherence、inconsistencyが「支離滅裂」に当たる名詞。ここではその形容詞形incoherent「支離滅裂な、一貫性のない」を使っています。当然、inconsistent「筋の通らない」も使用可能。incoherentの後にand muddled「混乱した」を付け加えると、プレゼンのだめっぷりが強調できます。lack「不足」、preparation「準備」。
（例）「彼の説明は支離滅裂で、何を言っているのかわからなかった」─ His explanation was so disjointed that it didn’t make any sense.
・disjointed「ばらばらの」、not make any sense「筋が通らない」。
前回の復習
「今日が報告書の締め切りなのに。彼、余裕綽綽だね」─ The deadline for his report is today. But he acts as though he had all the time in the world.
「締め切り」deadline
「まるで～かのように振る舞う」act as though ～ (過去形)
「時間はたっぷりある (余裕綽綽)」have all the time in the world
「落ち着き払っているように見える」He seems to be calm and composed / calm, cool and collected.
「こんなの余裕でできるよ」─ I can do this no sweat.
Extra Bit：「週末にゆっくりする余裕などない。仕事が山ほどあるんだ」─ I don't the have time to take it easy over the weekend. There's too much work to do.
