《今日のFUP：1026》 一心同体 ─ いっしんどうたい
「どこへ行くにも、何をするにも、彼らはいつも一緒。一心同体だね」 ─ No mater where they go or what they do, they’re always together. It’s like they’re joined at the hip.
No matter where ～「たとえどこへ～でも」、no matter what ～「たとえ何～でも」はWherever they go or whatever they doと言い換えられます。It’s like they’re joined at the hip.の文字通りの意味は「まるで腰と腰がくっついているようだ」。これで「一心同体」を表現 (「二人三脚」参照)。
(例)「我々は一心同体。これからも一丸となって頑張ろう！」─ We’re all in this together. Let’s do our best and work as a team!
・be all in this together「みんな一緒である」。
前回の復習
「油断大敵。まだ勝負はついていない」─ Don’t get overconfident yet. The game has yet to be decided.
「まだいい気 (自信過剰) になってはいけない (油断大敵)」─ Don’t get overconfident yet.
「安心 (安堵) が最大の敵 (油断大敵)」─ Security is the greatest enemy.
「まだ～していない」─ have yet to ～
「決定する」─ decide
「気を抜く余裕などない。何が起きてもおかしくない」─ We can’t afford any carelessness now. Anything can happen.
Extra Bit：「もう面接まで日にちがない。うかうかしていられない」─ Only a few days until my interview. I can't afford to slack off.
