《今日のFUP：1018》 老若男女 ─ ろうにゃくなんにょ
「そのイベントには老若男女が大勢集まったため、会場に入りきれなかった」 ─ The event attracted so many people of all ages, both men and women that the hall couldn’t hold them.
attract「引き寄せる」。ここでは「老若男女」をpeople of all ages, both men and women「すべての世代、男性も女性も」で表現しています。men and women of all descriptions, young and old alike「あらゆるタイプの男性と女性、若い人も年を取った人も同じように」とも言えます。hold「収容する」。
(例)「老いも若きも多くの人が今、この仮想現実ゲームにはまっている」─ A lot of people, both young and old, are now into this VR game.
・be into ～「～にのめり込む」、VR→Virtual Reality。

「彼女って八方美人なんだよね」─ She tries to please everybody.
「みんなを喜ばせようとする (八方美人)」─ try to please everybody
「彼女はみんなに好かれたいと思っている」─ She wants everybody to like her.
「彼女は誰に会ってもにこにこしている」─ She has a smile for everyone she meets.
「彼女は嫌われることに耐えられない」─ She can’t stand not being liked.
Extra Bit：「彼は人に合わせるのがうまいから、みんなに好かれるんだ」─ He’s good at going along with other people, so he’s pretty popular.
