「座席は元の位置に戻した方がいいですか？」─ Should I return my seat to its original position?
original positionが「元の位置」に当たる表現。Shall I put my seat back where it was before?とも言えます。where it was beforeの意味は「前にあった位置」。
（例）「どうやって座席を倒すんですか？」─ How can I make the seat recline?

「相手の身になって物事を考えるようにしないと」─ You need to learn to see things from other people's points of view. / You need to be more sympathetic toward other people.
「他の人の視点から物事を見る（相手の身になって考える）」─ see things from other people's points of view
「思いやりのある」─ sympathetic
「ちょっと僕の立場になってみてよ」─ Put yourself in my shoes for a second.
Extra Bit：「彼の立場だったら君だって同じことをしただろう」─ You would have done the same thing in his shoes.
