「警察は逃走犯の行方を探している」─ Police are searching for the escaped criminal.
an escaped criminalが「逃走犯」に当たる言い回し。「彼は今も逃走中である」はfreeを使って、He's still free.と言います。He's still out there.という言い方も覚えておきましょう。
（例）「奴は人の中に紛れ込むのがうまい」─ The guy is good at blending into the population.
前回の復習
「彼って裏口入学したらしいね」─ It looks like he got into school through the back door. / They say he bought his way into this school.
「裏口入学する」─ get into school through the back door
「彼はコネでこの仕事についたんだ」─ It was his connections that got him this job.
