穴埋め英作文1・2・3（作文180回）　腹を割って・明日は晴れ・そんな過激な～

水曜日は「英作文」の日。日々の生活の中でよく使う言い回しを英語で表現してみましょう。練習は三つのパート（穴埋め問題）に分かれています。それでは始めましょう。

【Part 1】
日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

1. Let's talk (　　　).
→腹を割って話そう。

2. This program is always (　　　).
→あの番組はやらせに決まってる。

3. Greasy food (　　　) heavy on my stomach.
→脂っこいものを食べると胃がもたれるんだ。

1. talk turkeyが「腹を割って話す」に当たる言い回し。次の言い回しも覚えておきましょう。（例）I had a heart-to-heart talk with him.「彼と腹を割って話した」。
2. fake「偽造する」で「やらせ」を表現。They always fake things on this program. とも言えます。Theyは「番組制作者」。
3. weigh heavyで「もたれる」を表現。主語を「胃」にして、My stomach feels heavy.とも言えます。

aとbが同じ意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

4. a. I'm in trouble if it doesn't clear up tomorrow.

→明日は晴れてくれないと困るな。

5. a. I want you to take care of this job in a hurry.

日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。最初の文字が与えられています。

→そんな過激なダイエットをしてたら、骨と皮になっちゃうよ。

【解説】
go on a drastic diet「過激なダイエットをする」。wind up ～「結局～になる」とskin and bones「骨と皮（英語では「皮と骨」の語順）」で「骨と皮になる」を表現しています。次のように言い換えてもいいでしょう。You'll be nothing but skin and bones if you go on a drastic diet like that.

→彼は後輩の面倒見がとてもいい。
