木曜日《文法》に出てきたpromiseを使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。
You always promise too much too fast.
→いつでも安請け合いをしすぎだよ。
I promise not to be any trouble later on.
→後になって迷惑はかけませんから。
I promise I'll make it up to you some time.
→今度、埋め合わせするからさ。
I'll do whatever I can to help you out. I promise.
→助けるためにできることは何でもします。約束します。
I've promised to meet somebody at three o'clock.
→3時に人に会う約束をしてるんだ。
