今週の復習です。英語の筋トレに使用した英文を音声を聞きながら再度チェックしましょう。音読も忘れずに!

《音読171回》
1. What's for dinner tonight?
Whatever it is, it smells wonderful.
I'm starving.



2. You sold your bike for only $500?
Why did you do that?
That was an excellent bike.



3. Where's the newspaper?
I just looked in the mailbox.
That's where it's usually delivered.




《会話171回》
1. A: Let's split the bill, shall we?
B: No. This one is on me.



2. A: Ahchoo! I think I feel a cold coming on.
B: You'd better take care of yourself.



3. A: Come with us. We're all going to lunch.
B: You go ahead. I don't have time right now.




《作文171回》
【Part 1】
1. How late can I check out?
2. That's a well-written essay.
3. We don't have to go into detail.



【Part 2】
4. a. Would you send me a fax later?
b. Would you mind faxing it to me later?

5. a. Will this get me to Shibuya Station?

9. Those are just the words I wanted to hear.

How about that teishokuya?
It's a Japanese-style diner.
They serve set meals.




今日のワンポイント

木曜日《文法》に出てきたused to ~を使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。

He used to be such a nice guy.
→あいつ以前はいい奴だったんだけどな。
You're not as young as you used to be.
→君もかつてのように若くはないんだから。
A river used to flow here, but not anymore.
→かつてここに川が流れていたんだけど、もう流れてないね。
I used to work handing out leaflets on street corners.
→昔は街角でチラシを配っていた。
I'm not persistent like I used to be. I must be getting old.
→年のせいか、昔のように踏ん張りがきかなくなった。
