《今日のイディオム》at the last minute
「最終的には、ドタキャンが3人いた」─ In the end, three people canceled at the last minute.
at the last minuteが「土壇場で、直前になって」に当たる言い回し。これとcancelを使えば「ドタキャン」が表現できます。They canceled the meeting at the last minute again.と言えば、「あいつらまた打ち合わせをドタキャンした」という意味になります。例文をもう一つ。Sorry to change things at the last minute.「土壇場で変更して悪いね」。
