火曜日は「会話（役割練習）」の日。A・Bの2行会話文を使って、会話の自然なリズム・テンポを身につけましょう。会話文1～3と和訳を読み、音声を聞いてから、解説をチェック！
1. A: Congratulations on a great match.
B: Thanks a lot. I gave it all I had.
A: おめでとうございます、素晴らしい試合でしたね。
B: どうも。全力を尽くしました。
2. A: Whose notebook is this on the copier?
B: I don't know. Isn't there a name on it?
A: コピー機の上にあるこれは誰のノート？
B: わからない。名前は書いてないの？
3. A: Where did you get that nice wall hanging?
B: I got it through an Internet auction.
A: あの素敵な壁掛けはどこで手に入れたの？
B: インターネットのオークションで。
▽解説・練習
【解説】
1. Congratulations on ～「～おめでどう」。（例）Congratulations on your graduation!「卒業おめでとう！」。give it all I haveで「持てる力を出す」という意味になります。
《発音アドバイス》
Congratulationsを特に強調して言います。Thanksの[θ]に注意。gave, all, hadにストレスをおきましょう。
2. Whose ～「誰の～」。（例）Whose bicycle is that?「あれは誰の自転車？」。a name on itの前置詞onの使い方に注意。（例）This bag doesn't have any brand name on it.「このバッグにはブランドネームがついていない」。
《発音アドバイス》
Whose, notebook, this, copierにストレス。don't knowの[ou]に注意。on itは［オンニッt］という感じで。
3. wall hanging「壁掛け」。through ～「～を通して」。（例）My parents were put together through an arranged marriage.「私の両親は、お見合いで一緒になったの」。
《発音アドバイス》
Where did you get thatは［ホェアディジュゲッザt］という感じで。wallで軽くイントネーションを上げ、hangingで下げます。got itは「ガリッ」。throughの[θ]に注意。
【役割練習】
ロールプレイをしましょう。
◆日本語（カッコ内）のヒントを見て、Aのパートを演じてください。スタート音の後、1～3の音声が連続して流れます。
