金曜日は「英語表現」の日。日常生活の中で頻繁に使われるさまざまな表現を覚えましょう。毎回、トピックに関連した使える英文を紹介します。今回は「住まい」です。

【穴埋め】
日本語の意味なるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。最初の文字が与えられています。

【解説】
1. spaciousはspaceの形容詞形で「広々とした」という意味。（例）Your apartment is so cramped.「君のアパートはとっても狭苦しいね」。
2. 20-minute（形容詞）にsがついていない点に注意。「遠い」はfar、「近い」はcloseで表現。（例）The school is pretty far from where I live.「学校は僕の住んでいる所からはかなり遠いんだ」。
3. be located conveniently「便利なところに位置している」。（例）The condo is located just a short walking distance from the station.「そのマンションは駅からすぐ歩いて行ける所にある」。
4.「家賃」はrentと言います。rentは動詞としても使えます。（例）Whether you rent an apartment or buy a condo, the higher the floor, the more it will cost.「アパートを借りるにしても、マンションを買うにしても、上の階に行けば行くほど高くなる（家賃・価格）」。
5. get a lot of sunlight「太陽の光を多く得る」で「日当ありがいい」を表現しています。（例）This is a pretty draughty room.「この部屋はかなりすき間風が入るね」。

→狭いマンションなんかじゃなくて、やっぱり一戸建ての家に住みたい。

→ここは3LDKのマンションです（寝室が3部屋のマンションで居間と食堂を兼ねた部屋と台所がついている）」。
The problem I have with it is that it doesn't get any sunlight even at midday.
→真昼でも日が全く当たらないのが難点なんだ。
