「長い間、彼とは連絡を取っていないな」─ I've been out of touch with him for a long time.
out of touchで「連絡を取っていない、音信不通で」という意味になります。前置詞にwithを使っている点に注目。「すっかりご無沙汰いたしまして、失礼いたしました」。これを英語で言うと……I really should apologize for having been out of touch.例文をもう一つ。He's out of touch with the world.「彼は世情に疎い」。
