6. make excuses「言い訳をする」。apologize「謝る、謝罪する」。次の言い回しも覚えておきましょう。（例）I don't want to hear any excuses.「言い訳は聞きたくない」。
7. worst excuse「最悪、最低の言い訳」。（例）If you make up an excuse, it has to be a likely story.「言い訳をするなら、ありそうな話にしろよ」。
8. too good to be trueの文字通りの意味は「本当であるにはうま過ぎる」。This claim is too good to be true.「このクレームは話がうますぎて本当とは思えない」。
9. 「～の言い訳にはならない」はThere's no excuse for / to ～で表現します。（例）Busy? That's no excuse to skip practice.「忙しい？それは練習をさぼる言い訳にはならない」。
10. I wish I had ～「～があればな（仮定法）」。a good excuse「まともな言い訳」。（例）I wish I had a good excuse for what happened, but I just don't.「今回のことは本当に申し訳ないと思っております」。
