今日のワンポイント
木曜日《文法》に出てきたafford「～する余裕（金、暇など）がある」を使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。
I can't afford a day off work.
→一日仕事を休む余裕などない。
I can't afford to screw up this time.
→今度こそ失敗しないようにしないと。
We can't afford any carelessness now.
→気を抜く余裕はない。
I wish we could afford to live in this area.
→この地域に住めたらな。
We can't afford not to find a good attorney.
→いい弁護士を見つけないわけにはいかないでしょう。
