今週の復習です。英語の筋トレに使用した英文を音声を聞きながら再チェックしましょう。音読も忘れずに!

《音読138回》
1. You want another loan?
No way.
You still haven't paid off the last one.



2. You go and play basketball.
I'll sit here and cheer you on.
Sports is not my strong suit.

《会話138回》
1. A: What's this on TV -- some sort of soap opera?
B: No, this is a true story.

6. If you don't exercise, your body goes soft.

9. I can't do a single pull-up.
10. Don't overdo it when you exercise.




今日のワンポイント

金曜日《表現》に出てきたoverdo「やりすぎる」を使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。

I've reached the age where I can't overdo it.
→無理できない歳になったんだな。
My whole body is sore. I shouldn't have overdone it.
→全身筋肉痛だ。無茶するんじゃなかった。
There's no need to overdo it. Go at your own pace.
→そんなに無理することはないよ。マイペースでやればいい。
Whether it's diet or exercise, you should never overdo it.
→ダイエットでも運動でも、やりすぎない方がいい。
If you don't exercise often, suddenly overdoing it can give you a Charlie horse.
→あまり運動をしてないなら、急にやりすぎると足がつるよ。
