水曜日は「英作文」の日。日々の生活の中でよく使う言い回しを英語で表現してみましょう。練習は三つのパート（穴埋め問題）に分かれています。それでは始めましょう。

【Part 1】
日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

→疲労回復には寝るのが一番だ。

→お茶碗を持って食べなさい。

1. The best cure for fatigueの文字通りの意味は「疲労の一番の治療」。cureの代わりにthingも使えます。
2. この場合の「持つ」はholdです。（例）Could you hold the door for me?「ドアを押さえていただけますか？」。
3. be in the single digitsで「一桁台で」という意味になります。He's got a single-digit handicap. / He's got a handicap in the single digits.とも言えます。

aとbが同じ意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。最初の文字が与えられています。

→英語は生涯学習だと思います。いくら勉強しても終わりが見えてきません。

【解説】
「生涯学習」をa lifelong projectで表現。No matter how ～で「どれだけ～しようとも」という意味になります。（例）No matter how much you study, I'm sure you'll never study too hard.「いくら勉強しても、しすぎるってことはないよ」。nowhere in sight.「どこにも見えない」。（例）The store is open, but not a customer in sight.「店は開いてるけど、客は一人もいない」。

英文1～3をリピートしましょう。

英文4～5（a, b）をリピートしましょう。

→どう見たって、彼は君をだまそうとしてるんだよ。
In a luxury car, no matter how fast you go, you don't feel the speed.
→高級車っていくらスピードを出しても速く感じない。
