水曜日は「英作文」の日。日々の生活の中でよく使う言い回しを英語で表現してみましょう。練習は三つのパート（穴埋め問題）に分かれています。それでは始めましょう。
【Part 1】
日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。
1. Teeth tend to ( ) with age.
→歯は年齢と共に黄色くなる傾向がある。
2. I don't intend to ( ) in your way.
→君の邪魔をするつもりはない。
3. All this walking is ( ) me out.
→ずっと歩いているからへとへとだよ。

【解説】
1. yellowは「黄色くなる」という意味の動詞としても使えます。（例）The tar from cigarettes has yellowed your front teeth.「煙草のヤニで、前歯が黄色くなってるよ」。
2. stand in one's way「～の邪魔になる」。（例）Move! You're in my way.「どいて。邪魔だから」。
3. tire ～ outで「～をへとへのにさせる（動詞）」という意味。（例）Giving speeches is very tiring for me.「スピーチをするのはとても疲れる」。この場合のtiringは形容詞。

aとbが同じ意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

【解説】
according to ～「～によれば、～に従って」、weather report / forecast「天気予報」。「季節外れを」をunseasonable表現。be supposed to ～「～することになっている」。次のようにも言えます。The weather report said that it's going to snow this afternoon. That's unusual for this time of year.

You'll have to act according to changing circumstances.
→臨機応変に対応してください。
We did the job according to the directions we received.
→受け取った指示にしたがってその仕事をしたまでです。
