水曜日は「英作文」の日。日々の生活の中でよく使う言い回しを英語で表現してみましょう。練習は三つのパート（穴埋め問題）に分かれています。それでは始めましょう。

【Part 1】
日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

1. To each, his / her own.「人それぞれ、人の好み（考え方）はさまざま」。（例）There's no accounting for tastes.「蓼食う虫も好き好き」。
2. itch「かゆみ（名詞）、かゆい（動詞）」。その形容詞形がitchyです。（例）Hay fever gives me a stuffy nose and watery eyes.「花粉症で鼻は詰まるし、涙目にはなるし」。
3. the one who started itの文字通りの意味は「それを始めた人」。（例）You're the one who did this, right?「これはお前がやったことだろう？」。

aとbが同じ意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

4. a. I laughed until my stomach hurt.
b. I laughed so hard I got a (　　　).
→笑いすぎてお腹が痛くなっちゃったよ。

6. With, increase, crime, bad

【解説】
withで状況を説明。With the increase in violent crime「凶悪犯罪が増えているので」。increaseのアクセントに注意。名詞の場合はincrease、動詞の場合はincreaseです（赤字がアクセントの位置）。just as bad as ～「～と同様に悪い」。Things aren't as bad as you think.「状況は君が思うほど悪くない」。

→お前のせいで風邪を引いちゃったよ。
Are you the one who started this rumor?
→この噂を広めたのは君か？
She got mad at me even though she's the one who was wrong.
→彼女のほうが悪いのに逆ギレされちゃったよ。
