《今日のイディオム》get over
「風邪がなかなか治らない」─ I can't seem to get over this cold.
get overで「治る」を表現。get overは「克服する、乗り越える、打ち勝つ」という意味を表します。this coldの代わりにmy stage frightを使って、I can't seem to get over my stage fright.と言うと、「人前に出ると上がっちゃうんだよね」の意味に。get overを使った他の例文をもう一つ。You should try to get over your fear of strange new foods.「食わず嫌いを克服しないとね」。
