水曜日は「英作文」の日。日々の生活の中でよく使う言い回しを英語で表現してみましょう。練習は三つのパート(穴埋め問題)に分かれています。それでは始めましょう。
【Part 1】
日本語の意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

1. Who's winning?「誰が勝っているのか?」で「どっち」を表現。(例)A: Who's running? B: Trump and Clinton.「A: 誰が立候補してるの?B: トランプとクリントン」。
2. Relax your shoulders.の文字通りの意味は「両肩をリラックさせて」。(例)Go ahead, sit back and relax.「どうぞ、ゆっくりしていってください」。
3. この場合のbusyは「混雑した」という意味。(例)a busy street「賑やかな通り」。

aとbが同じ意味になるようにカッコに適切な語を入れてください。

→シャツがまだ乾いてない。
5. a. These souvenirs are really bulky.

→このお土産はかさばるな。

【解説】
Someとothersの組み合わせがポイント。(例)Some people like cats and others like dogs.「猫が好きな人もいれば、犬が好きな人もいる」。whileは「その一方で」という意味。a waste of time and money「時間とお金の浪費」。(例)Some people love to cook. Others think it's a waste of time.「料理が大好きな人もいれば、時間の無駄だと思う人もいる」、What a waste of tax money!「税金の無駄遣いだ!」。
