今日のワンポイント

金曜日《表現》で前回と今回、「通勤電車」に関連する英語表現を取り上げました。さらに英文を追加しておきます。少し長くなりますが ……。

It must take a lot of courage to yell out "This person is molesting me!"
→「この人痴漢です!」って言うのはきっと勇気がいるだろうな。
You see more and more women putting on makeup on the train these days.
→電車の中で化粧をしている女性を最近よく見かける。
I moved to the middle of the car, and couldn't get off when the train stopped.
→中のほうに入ったら、電車が止まった時、降りられなくなった。
Just when I thought I'd caught the train, my bag got caught in the doors as they closed.
→電車に間に合ったと思ったら、鞄がドアに挟まってしまった。
In winter it makes me sleepy when my feet are warm and I can feel the sun on my back.
→冬場、足もとが暖かくて、背中に陽が当たってると眠くなるよね。
