ロールプレイしましょう。
◇最近すごく風が冷たくなってきたね◇
A: The wind is really getting colder these days.
B: And the air is clear and clean.
A: It's really getting wintry.
B: They say we'll get the first snow of the year tomorrow.
【和訳】
A: 最近すごく風が冷たくなってきた。
B: それに空気も澄んできれいだし。
A: いよいよ冬らしくなってきたわね。
B: 明日、初雪が降るらしいよ。
【リスニング】

【解説】
get colder「だんだん寒くなる」、clean「澄んだ」、clear「きれいな、汚れていない」。wintryは「冬のような」という意味の形容詞。They say ～で「～だそうだ」の意味。the first snow「初雪」。
《例文》
1. It will be getting colder soon.
→じきにもっと寒くなる。
2. As long as that cup is clean, there's no need to wash it.
→そのコップがきれいなら、洗う必要はない。
3. The weather was very summery yesterday.
→昨日の天気はまるで夏みたいだった。
4. They say that old store is closing down.
→あの老舗が店じまいするそうだ。

→今朝、初霜が降りた。
【音読アドバイス】
A: wind, really, colderを強め、these daysでゆっくりとイントネーションを下げます。
B: clear, cleanを伸ばすようにしてはっきり発音。andは「アン」。
A: reallyの[r] [l]とwintryの[r]に注意。
B: say, first snow, yearを強調し、イントネーションを軽く上げ、tomorrowで下げます。
