次の文を英訳すると？

1. 毎日、カレーばかりじゃさすがに飽きる。
2. 今日は、別のものを食べようかな。
3. でも、イタリアレストランの前には行列ができてるし。
4. すし屋はやってないみたいだし。
5. コンビニでカップ麺でも買っていくとするか。

【Step 1】
日本語の意味に合わせて英訳してみましょう。

1. As I eat curry almost every day, I'm tired of it.
2. Today, maybe I'll eat something else.
3. But many people are waiting in front of the Italian restaurant.
4. The sushi restaurant doesn't seem to be open.
5. Maybe I'll buy instant noodles at a convenience store.

より英語らしく表現する（英語に磨きをかける）とどうなるか。カッコに入る語を考えてみてください。

【解説】
1. Day in, day outは「来る日も来る日も」という意味ですね。「飽きる」と言えばbe / get tired ofが直ぐに思い浮かぶかもしれませんが、ここではcan't face「顔を向けられない」で表現しています。faceの代わりにstandやeatも使えます。カレーを繰り返して、Curry, curry, I'm getting sick of having curry all the time.と言ってもいいでしょう。
2. ポイントは主語の立て方。Going for ～を使っているところに注目してください。It couldn't hurt to go for something else today.「今日は他のものにしてもいいよね」という言い方も一緒に覚えておきましょう。
3.「行列ができている」はThere's a line ～、あるいは、People are forming a line ～で表現できます。wait in line「並んで待つ」を使ってBut people are waiting in line at the Italian restaurant.とも言えます。
4.「やってない」をthere's no light on「明かりがついていない」と言い換えています。この場面では、The sushi place is out, too. It's closed.も使えます。このoutは「だめ (no good)」という意味。
5.「コンビニ」はa / the convenience storeですね。「カップ麺」はinstant noodlesでいいでしょう。この文脈でのbe in orderは「ふさわしい」の意味。これで「（カップ麺で）よしとするか」と言っているのです。
