次の文を英訳すると？

1. みんなＥメール、Eメールってうるさいんだから。
2. 仲間が集るとすぐにメールアドレスの交換だよ。
3. 僕はインターネットのイの字も知らないし。
4. 会社でも使ってないからね。
5. 何かのけ者にされた気分だな。

【Step 1】
日本語の意味に合わせて英訳してみましょう。

1. Everyone says "e-mail, e-mail" too much.
2. When my friends meet each other, they soon exchange e-mail addresses.
3. But I don't know about the Internet at all.
4. I don't use it at the office either.
5. I feel like I'm an outsider.

より英語らしく表現する（英語に磨きをかける）とどうなるか。カッコに入る語を考えてみてください。

1. All I hear these days is "e-mail" this and "e-mail" (　　　).

【解説】
1. thisとthatに注目。これで「あーだ、こーだ（なんだかんだ）とうるさく言う」の意味を表しているのです。E-mail me this and I'll e-mail you that -- it's all I ever hear. のようにも言えます。
2.「集まる」はget togetherを使います。「交換」はexchangeの代わりにswapでもいいでしょう。「すぐ」はas soon as my friends ～を使っても言えますが、the first thing my friends doで表現しているところがポイント。
3.「インターネットのイの字も知らない」をdon't know (anything) ～ at allで表現するのも一つの方法です。ここでhave the slightest idea ～を使うと「皆目見当がつかない」という意味になります。I don't know a single thing about the Internet.と言ってもいいでしょう。
4.「会社でも使っていない」とは、つまり、「社内にネットワークが引かれていない（not wired)」の意味。また、The office where I work doesn't even have computers. 「オフィスにはコンピューターもない」とも言えます。Iを使わずにthe companyやthe officeを主語に。なかなか思いつかない言い回しです。
5.「のけ者、仲間外れ」はan outsiderでもいいのですが、この機会にout of the loopという表現も一緒に覚えておきましょう。I feel so out of the loop.と言わずに、主語にThatを使うところが英語らしいですね。
