件名：大量注文

貴社のホームページに載っていた南アフリカ産ワインを、個人的に複数ケース購入しようかと考えています。1ダースあるいは2ダースまるごと購入した場合に値引きをしていただけるのかどうかお知らせください。また、各ビンテージワインを試飲できるような販売代理店が東京地域にあるのなら、お知らせください。

お返事をお待ちしております。


英文・解説
【実例34：英文】
Subject: Volume orders

I am interested in ordering for personal consumption multiple cases of the South African wines listed on your website. Please inform me if any discount is available on full 12-bottle or 24-bottle case orders. Also, I would like to know if there is any outlet in the Tokyo area where the wines of each vintage can be sampled.

I await your reply.

【解説】
「～しようかと考えています」をbe interested in ～ing「～することに興味を持っている」で表現。for personal consumption「個人的消費のために」。multiple「多数の」以降がorderの目的語になります。listed「掲載されている」の前にthat areが略されています。Please inform me if ～で「～かどうかお知らせください」の意味。available「利用できる」。 I would like to know if there is any ～「～があるかどうか知りたい」。outlet「販売代理店、直売店」。動詞sampleには「試飲する、試食する」という意味があります。await one's reply「返事を待つ」。

be interested in ～ingを使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。

I'm not interested in going there.
→そこに行く気はありません。
Would you be interested in filling out this questionnaire?
→このアンケートにご記入いただけますか？
Is there anything you were especially interested in eating tonight?
→今夜は特に何か食べたいなと思っていた物はある？

自然に言えるように英文を繰り返し音読しておきましょう。
