◇コーヒーフィルターのこと？◇
A: Could you hand me that, that ... paper coffee-thing there?
B: You mean the coffee filter? Here you go.
A: That's what I meant to say. Thanks.
B: I hope I can have a cup too.

【和訳】
A: それ、それ、紙でコーヒーに使う、そこにあるの、取ってくれる？
B: コーヒーフィルターのこと？はい。
A: そう、それそれ。ありがとう。
B: 私もコーヒー飲みたいな。

【解説】
hand「手渡す」。paper coffee-thingで「紙でコーヒーに使う物」という意味に。Here you go.「はいどうぞ」、mean to ～「～するつもり」。この場合のhaveは「飲む」。

《例文》
1. Hand me that whatchamacallit over there, will you?
→あそこにあるそれ（何とかいうやつ）取ってくれる？
2. That's that ... that -- you know -- that thing. Oh shoot, I just can't remember it.
→あれだよ、あれ、ほら、あれだってば。うーん、思い出せないな。
3. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I think I did pretty well.
→自画自賛するつもりはないけど、我ながらよくやったと思う。
4. You need a calculator? Here you go.
→計算機が必要なの？はいどうぞ。
5. Let's go somewhere and have a cup of coffee.
→どこかでコーヒーを飲もうよ。

【音読アドバイス】
A: Could youは「クジュー」。考えるようにしてthat, thatと繰り返しましょう。
B: filterでイントネーションを上げ、goで下げます。
A: what Iは「ワライ」、meant to sayは「メントゥセイ」。[t]の発音は一度だけ。Thanks.の[θ]に注意。
B: hope, have, cupを強めます。tooのイントネーションに注意（音声でチェック）。
