件名：同窓会

先日連絡した同窓会の詳細を以下にお知らせします。3月15日までに、出欠を私のメールか携帯に連絡してください。

■会期：4月3日（日）19：00 ～
■場所：渋谷　○△□カフェ（○△□ビル5F）
■予算：5000円程度（皆さんの飲みたい気分によって変動あり）
■持ち物：面白い小ネタ

こんなところです。楽しみにしています。では、出欠の連絡待っています。

Subject: Alumni party

Here are the details of the upcoming alumni party I called you about the other day. RSVP to me by e-mail or a call to my cell phone by March 15.

■Time: April 3 (Sunday), 7 p.m. ～
■Place: ○△□ Café (on the 5th floor of the ○△□ building in Shibuya)
■Cost: About 5,000 yen per person (depending on how much you drink)
■Please be sure to bring something funny or interesting to talk about.

That about covers it. I'm looking forward to it, and to your reply.

【解説】
Here are the details of ～で「～の詳細です（お知らせします）」の意味になります。the upcoming alumni party「今度の同窓会」。RSVPは動詞として用いて「お返事をお願いします（フランス語）」の意味。depend on ～「～次第で」。Please be sure to ～で「必ず～してください」と言っています。「面白い小ネタ」をsomething funny or interesting to talk aboutで表現。That about covers it.が「こんなところです」に当たる言い回しです。look forward to ～「～を楽しみにする」。


今日のワンポイント
detailを使った例文をいくつか挙げておきましょう。

We don't have to go into detail.
→細かいことはいいよね。
Why preoccupy yourself with meaningless details?
→どうして無意味な細かいことにこだわるの？
We have a general agreement, but the details remain to be worked out.
→総論では同意しているが、細かい点は詰めなくてはいけない。
