《今日のFUP：1217》 時代錯誤 ─ じだいさくご
「そんな考え方をしてるなんて、時代錯誤もいいところだ」─ That kind of thinking is a perfect example of an anachronism.
「時代錯誤」と言えばanachronism「アナクロニズム」がすぐに頭に浮かぶ？「いいところだ」をa perfect example「完璧な例」で表現している点にも注目。Your way of thinking is a pure anachronism.と言えば、「君の考え方は時代錯誤もはなはだしい」という意味になります。pure「単なる、まったくの」。
（例）「こんなふうに思う私は、考え方が古いのかもしれない」─ Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, thinking this way.
・old-fashioned「古風な、時代遅れの」。

「彼らはその増税法案に徹頭徹尾反対しているが、そのうち意見を変えるよ」─ They are dead set against the tax increase bill, but they’ll eventually come around.
「～に断固反対する (徹頭徹尾反対する)」─ be dead set against ～
「増税 / 減税法案」─ the tax increase / reduction bill
「結局は、いずれは」─ eventually
「(近くに) やって来る (自分の意見や考えを変えて、相手に同調する)」─ come around
「絶対に立ち退かないぞ！ごみ焼却炉は不要」─ Hell no, we won’t go! No trash incinerator here.
Extra Bit：「彼に投票するのは断固反対です」─ I'm dead set against voting for him.
