《今日のFUP：1162》 勧善懲悪 ─ かんぜんちょうあく
「この勧善懲悪の物語はあまりに単純すぎて、深みに欠ける」 ─ This didactic tale is too simple and has no depth to it.
「勧善懲悪の物語」をdidactic tale「教訓的な話」で表現。have no depth to ～「～に深みがない」。勧善懲悪と言えば・・・He’s a hero in the true sense -- never afraid, unflinching, and always helping the weak and breaking the strong.「彼は何事も恐れず、ひるまず、そして、いつも弱きを助け強きをくじく。真の意味でのヒーローだ」。unflinching「ひるまない」、break「打ちのめす」。
（例）「仮面のヒーローが悪を成敗するために、どこからともなく現れた」─ The masked hero came out of nowhere to punish the evil.
・out of nowhere「どこからともなく」、punish「罰する」。
前回の復習
「贈収賄汚職事件で会社の社長以下、一族郎党全員が逮捕された」─ Everyone in the company from the president on down was arrested in the bribery scandal.
「贈収賄汚職事件」─ bribery scandal
「誰も彼も (一族郎党)」─ everyone
「社長以下～」─ from the president on down
「逮捕する」arrest
「逮捕された (受動態)」─ was arrested
「会議に出席したメンバー全員が、その提案に賛成投票した」─ All the members at the meeting voted in favor of the proposal.
