《今日のFUP：1152》 画竜点睛 ─ がりょうてんせい
「面白い映画だったが、結末が画竜点睛を欠いていた」 ─ It was an interesting movie, but the ending lacked the finishing touches.
the ending lacked the finishing touchesで「最後の場面での詰めを欠いていた」、つまり、「画竜点睛を欠いていた (詰めが甘かった)」。finishing touch「最後の仕上げ」。The ending had something missing.と言えば、「結末が物足りなかった (何かが欠けていた)」の意味に。
（例）「この企画は詰めが甘いね」─ This plan needs more work.
・need more work「もっと手を加える必要がある」。
