《今日のFUP：1138》 三位一体 ─ さんみいったい
「このスープは、辛さ、酸っぱさ、甘さが三位一体となって奥深い味を醸し出している」 ─ The depth and richness of this soup comes from a trinity of flavor components -- spiciness, sourness and sweetness.
trinityが「三位一体」に当たる表現です。depth「深み」とrichness「濃厚さ」で「奥深い味」。その味がcome from a trinity of flavor components「三つの味 (風味) の成分から来ている」。「三つの味」とは・・・spiciness「辛さ」、sourness「酸っぱさ」、sweetness「甘さ」。
（例）「来週、先生、親、子どもの三者面談がある」─ There’s a teacher-parent-student conference next week.
・teacher-parent-student「先生、親、子供三者による (形容詞)」。
前回の復習
「いつまでトラブルが続くのだろうか。そろそろ一件落着といきたいね」─ I wonder how long this trouble is going to continue. I think it’s about time to close this case.
「続く」─ continue
「そろそろ一件落着」─ it’s about time to ～「そろそろ～する時だ」＋close this case「この件を終わりにする」
「終結」─ closure
「そろそろ一件落着させたいのだが」─ I wish we could find closure any time now.
「未解決の問題は今日すべて決着を見たようですね」─ It looks like we’ve resolved all the outstanding issues today.
