《今日のFUP：1127》 東奔西走 ─ とうほんせいそう
「資金を求めて東奔西走し、やっとのことで調達した」 ─ We ran all over the place looking for funding, and finally got it.
「東奔西走する」とは、まさにrun all over the place「そこら中を走り回る」ということですね。run around to every conceivable place「走り回って考えられるあらゆる所へ行く」も使えます。looking for funding「資金を探し求めながら」。finally「やっと、ようやく」の代わりにin the endも使えます (～ and got it in the end)。
（例）「今週は忙しかった。東奔西走してたから」─ This has been a busy week. I’ve been constantly on the move.
・be on the move「あちこち動き回って」。

「その老人は戦中、戦後を通じて波瀾万丈の人生を送ってきた」─ Through the war and its aftermath, the old man has lived a life full of ups and downs, twists and turns.
「直後の時期 (戦後)」─ aftermath
「～に満ちた人生を送る」─ live a life full of ～
「浮き沈み」─ ups and downs ＋「紆余曲折」─ twists and turns (波瀾万丈)
「絶頂とどん底 (山と谷)」─ peaks and valleys
「苦難と苦痛」─ misery and suffering
「試練と苦難」─ trials and tribulations
「彼は辛い経験をしてきた」─ He’s been through some harsh experiences.
Extra Bit：「いろいろあったけど、結果良ければすべて良しだよ」─ There were a lot of ups and downs, but things turned out well, and that's the important thing.
