《今日のFUP：1112》 危機一髪 ─ ききいっぱつ
「危機一髪。一段踏み外して、階段から転げ落ちるところだった」 ─ That was a close call. I missed a step and almost fell down the stairs.
That was a close call.「危ないところだった」で「危機一髪」を表現。That was a close shave.とも言います。That was a close shave. I narrowly escaped a head-on collision.と言えば、「危機一髪。危うく正面衝突するところだった」の意味に。narrowly escape a head-on collision「かろうじて正面衝突を避ける」。
（例）「もう少しのところでブレーキとアクセルを間違えるところだった」─ I came within an inch of mistaking the accelerator for the brake.
・come within an inch of ～ing「もう少しのところで～する」。
前回の復習
「今こそ我々が一致団結する時だ」─ Now is the time for us to band together. / It’s time for us to work together / as one.
「一緒に団結する (一致団結)」─ band together
「一緒に働く」─ work together
「一つになって働く」─ work as one
「こういう状況だからこそ一致団結して頑張らないと」─ This is a situation in which we have to work together.
Extra Bit：「皆で力を合わせて、頑張りましょう」─ Let's all pull together and do our best.
