《今日のFUP：1067》 傍若無人 ─ ぼうじゃくぶじん
「あの若者たちの傍若無人な振る舞いは、どうにかならないものか？」 ─ Isn’t there anything that can be done about the outrageous behavior of those young kids?
Isn’t there anything that can be done about ～「～について何かできることはないのか (どうにかならないのか)」。outrageousには「乱暴な、けしからぬ、ひどい」という意味があります。この形容詞で「傍若無人」を表現しています。behavior「振る舞い、行為」。
(例)「他の人に横柄な態度を取るのはよくない」─ It’s no good to take an arrogant attitude toward others.
・arrogant「横柄な、傲慢な」。
前回の復習
「これほどの大当たりなんて信じられないよ。まさに空前絶後としか言いようがない」─ I can’t believe I hit the jackpot. This is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing.
「(賭け事などで) 大当たりする、一山当てる」─ hit the jackpot
「一生に一度の出来事 (空前絶後)」─ a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing
「以前にも、これからもありえないだろう出来事」─ This has never happened before and it will probably never happen again.
「それは空前絶後の大惨事だった」─ It was the most disastrous accident we had ever heard of.
Extra Bit：「彼の偉業は野球史上初の快挙だった」─ His accomplishment was a first in baseball history.
