《今日のFUP：1060》 我田引水 ─ がでんいんすい
「彼女のスピーチは我田引水のコメントばかりで、聞くに耐えなかった」 ─ Her speech was so full of self-serving comments that I couldn’t stand to listen to it.
be full of ～「～で満ちている」。self-serving「私利的な、虫のいい」で「我田引水 (自分の都合のいいように言ったり、したりすること)」を表現しています。self-centered「自己中心的な」を使ってもいいでしょう。can’t stand to ～「～するのに耐えられない」。
(例) 「彼は自己中心的で、いつも周りの人に迷惑をかけている」─ He's so egotistic that it causes problems for the people around him.
・egotistic「自己中心の、自分本位の」。
前回の復習
「彼は理路整然と話したので、何も言えなかった」─ He put it so logically (that) I couldn’t say a word.
「言う」─ put
「論理的に」─ logically
「とても理路整然と話す」─ put it so logically / put it in such a reasoned way
「筋の通った」─ reasoned
「一言も言えない」─ not say a word
「何を訳のわからないことを言ってるんだ？」─ What kind of nonsense are you taking about?
Extra Bit：「こういうものはすべて論理的、科学的に説明ができる」─ All these things can be explained logically and scientifically.
