《今日のFUP：1051》 五里霧中 ─ ごりむちゅう
「カラスが完全に街を占拠してしまった。どう対処したらいいか五里霧中である」 ─ The crows have completely taken over this city. We’re all in a fog about how to deal with them.
completely take over ～「～を完全に占拠する、乗っ取る」。be in a fog (about) が「五里霧中」に当たる表現。be all at sea (about)「途方に暮れて」、have no idea「見当もつかない」も使えます。deal with ～「～に対処する、取り組む」。
(例)「霧が出ているので見通しが悪くなっている」─ Visibility is low due to the fog.
・visibility「視界」、due to ～「～が原因で」。

「これからは三寒四温の日々が続き、日増しに春めいて来る」─ We’re approaching that time of the year where you get cycles of three cold days followed by four warm ones. Day by day, it’s looking more like spring.
