《今日のFUP：1035》 起死回生 ─ きしかいせい
「エンゼルス大谷、起死回生の逆転サヨナラホームラン！」 ─ Ohtani brought the Angels back from the dead with a game-winning homer for a come-from-behind victory.
ここでは「起死回生」をbring ～ back from the dead「～を死から甦らせる」を使って表現しています。game-winning homer「勝利を決めるホームラン」、come-from-behind victory「逆転勝ち」。この二つの言い回しに注目。
(例)「９回裏。ツーアウト。起死回生の同点スリーランホームランを打った！」─ Bottom of the ninth. Two outs. He blasted a game-tying three-run homer to pull his team back from the brink!
・pull ～ back from the brink「瀬戸際 (崖っぷち) から～を引き戻す」。
前回の復習
「一攫千金を狙って、宝くじをまとめ買いした」─ I bought lottery tickets in bulk, hoping to strike it rich.
「～を大量購入する、一括購入する」─ buy ～ in bulk
「～することを期待して」─ hoping to ～
「一山当てる (一攫千金)」─ strike it rich
「宝くじで一攫千金を狙うしか他に道はない」─ There's nothing I can do now but hope for easy money with a big lottery win.
Extra Bit：「あいつは最初にギャンブルで大儲けしてから、病みつきになってしまった」─ He's been obsessed with gambling ever since he won big the first time he tried it.
