「これでは水掛け論になる」─ We're just spinning our wheels here.
ここではspin one's wheels「空回りする」で「水掛け論」を表現。pointless「無意味な、無益な」を使って、This is a pointless discussion.と言ってもいいでしょう。
（例）「この議論は堂々巡りをしているだけだ」─ This discussion is just going around in circles.
前回の復習
「自分のこと何様だと思ってるんだ、あいつは。人を顎で使いやがって」─ Who does he think he is, ordering people around like that? / Who does he think he is, trying to have everyone at his beck and call like that?
「（人を）こき使う（顎で使う）」─ order a person around
「指図のままに」─ at one's beck and call
「僕を召使いみたいにこき使えると思うなよ」─ Don't think you can order me around like a servant?
Extra Bit：「私の上司は人使いがあらい」─ My boss is a slave driver.
